But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
Dead Sea Scrolls Lecture
Bethlehem College and Seminary presents “An Introduction to the Dead Sea Scrolls” with guest lecturer Dan Gurtner (professor at Bethel University). All are welcome.
This lecture is offered as the Wednesday Connection main teaching option for adults in the Sanctuary at the North Campus (5151 Program Ave, Mounds View MN 55112) on Wednesday, March 17. Join us before the lecture at 6:15pm for a time of worship.
Attendees will be able to hear a brief overview of the Dead Sea Scrolls in light of an upcoming exhibit at the Science Museum. The lecture will begin with a summary of the discovery of the Scrolls, the site at Qumran, and the religious sectarians who composed them.
We will survey some of the contents of the scrolls and comment on their importance for the study of the text of the Old Testament and the Jewish world of Jesus in the New Testament.
This lecture is also being offered during lunchtime on Monday, March 22, at 12:30pm at the Downtown Campus. Read more.
