But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
Women's Spring Conference 2010
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
Isaiah 43: 1a-3b
An Invitation
What are YOUR greatest fears? Losing your job… your health…your family? The state of the economy, the government, the culture, the world? Being alone or not connected in a large church? Over and over in Scripture, God commands us to “fear not”—but with this seemingly impossible command comes His promise of provision—“for I am with you.” When trials seem overwhelming or the “what-if’s” rob you of peace, God assures us that He will never leave us or forsake us. His grace is truly sufficient.
Bethlehem Baptist Church invites you to our 2010 Women’s Spring Conference where Andrée Seu will move us towards trusting God in the midst of fear.

Guest Speaker
Andrée Seu
Writer for World Magazine
Join us as Andrée Seu tackles the issue of fear and how we combat it. The forces arrayed against us—in the spirit realm, in
the stimulation overload of culture, in the seductiveness of manifold entertainments, in the hard dailiness of life—are so formidable that nothing but a muscular, consciously moment-by-moment faith will be good enough to see us through. Andrée will encourage us to come back to believing God, to taking him at his word.
Andrée was born Andrée Mailloux in a mostly French Canadian town in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, in 1951, and educated in the Catholic tradition for 16 years. She graduated from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts, in 1973. Part of the hippie migration to enlightenment in the East, she got no further than Francis Schaeffer’s L’Abri in Switzerland when God ambushed her with the testimony of an ex-drug addict and the book The God Who is There. She graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary in 1979, married, and had four children.
Her husband died in 1999, whereupon God immediately demonstrated his favor on widows with a journalism job pulled from thin air. Having flopped as a census taker and school teacher, she became a senior writer for World magazine, and concurrently ran the café at Westminster Seminary until its closing three years ago.
Andrée is also amazed to be paid for daily blog contributions to World’s online magazine at www.worldontheweb.com.

“I am very encouraged that Andrée Seu is coming to our Bethlehem Women’s Spring Conference. Of all the regular writers for World Magazine, her articles are often the most penetrating and creative. She is not unacquainted with suffering, and knows a loving and sovereign Savior to sustain her hope. I encourage our women to listen and go deep with Andree Seu.”
