But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
TCT Tear-Off March 2010
Treasuring Christ Together
TCT is our ongoing strategy to fulfill our mission through a multiplying movement of campuses, new churches, and a Global Diaconate, united by a common mission and founded on a common biblical life and doctrine.
Global Diaconate Update, March 2010
In response to the January 12 earthquake in Haiti, Bethlehem has provided financial assistance to several relief efforts through the Global Diaconate:
- Samaritanís Purse, to support Bethlehem global partner Dr. Steve Nelson in his two-week medical service with a Samaritanís Purse team in Haiti.
- World Relief, to support the efforts of a church-based response with medical kits, food, and water. Read more.
- Iglesia Bautista de la Gracia (a partner church in Santiago, Dominican Republic), to help purchase 25,000 bottles of water that had John 4:13–14 printed on the labels in Spanish and Creole: Jesus said to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." Read more.
- Bethlehem Team, to purchase medical supplies, tarps, and food for Haitians being ministered to by a team made up mostly of medical professionals that we sent to Haiti on February 27. Read more.
In addition, the Global Diaconate is partially funding a "Home of Hope" to be constructed by Loving Shepherd Ministries in Chantal, Haiti—a project that was initiated prior to the earthquake. This home will provide housing for 12 children who are orphaned due to AIDS or disabilities.
- Pray for the gospel to continue to go forth in the midst of suffering in Haiti through efforts to care for peopleís physical needs.
- Give a monthly gift designated to "TCT" in addition to your regular financial support of Bethlehem so that we can continue to provide aid to the poorest of the poor.
- Go to one of our TCT church plants. (For information about a potential church plant east of St Paul, contact Brett Louis.)
