How Are GD Funds Being Used This Year?
- Freedom Firm, India
Funds were sent to develop a regional office where Freedom Firm conducts anti-trafficking work in a city south of Mumbai. These funds will support the growing work of investigation, rescue, legal intervention, and counseling especially for minor girls who are trafficked. Girls are continually being rescued and cared for by counselors and ministry workers who share the love of Christ in this dangerous work of justice. Pray for the operatives as they rescue girls. These operatives frequently place themselves in dangerous situations with each rescue. - Ameva Farm and Bible College, Zimbabwe
Funds were approved to help provide disaster relief in the wake of catastrophic economic, agricultural, and political turmoil. Money will be sent for a food distribution program starting as soon as possible in the school that Ameva runs. The Bible college students, clinic patients, and orphans will also benefit. Among the 800 children at the schools, there are 120 orphans, mostly children who have lost one or both parents to AIDS. Pastor David & Karin Livingston visited Ameva during their sabbatical in June. - Food for the Hungry, Peru
On July 4, an inauguration ceremony took place outside of Peru in the community of Rinconada del Sol to celebrate the completion of the second phase of the building of a kindergarten complex and community center that includes two classrooms, a retaining wall, safe playing areas, and bathrooms. The project involves Bethlehem missionary, Luke Lundstedt, who has been working with the community since 2007.
Pray that God grants us hearts of cheerful generosity to finish North well, so we can focus South.
